OBITUARIES: JAMES F. DILLINGER
August
8, 1922 - September 2, 2007
Funeral services for Jim
Dillinger, 85 year old Buffalo native who passed away quietly at the home of his
birth in Buffalo, will be held Friday September 7th at 2 pm from the
Adams Funeral Home Chapel with his family officiating. Visitation will be at the
funeral home chapel on Thursday from 1pm until 9 pm and on Friday from 9 am
until 1 pm. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with a graveside service to
follow the funeral. Donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Jim Gatchell
Museum in care of the Adams Funeral Home.
James Fredrick Dillinger Jr. was born on August 8,1922 in Buffalo to James
and Katherine Dillinger. He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated
from Johnson County High School in 1941. Due to illness he was unable to enter
the Army and he went to work in the family clothing business. He was married on
March 13, 1948 in Deer Lodge, Montana to May Lawrence and they made their home
in Buffalo where they raised their five children. Jim and Robert Hancock ran
the New York Store until they sold it in 1967. Jim then took a job with the
First National Bank until he retired in 1977. He was active in the Chamber of
Commerce and belonged to the Buffalo Rotary Club. He was a historian avid
supporter of the Jim Gatchell Museum and felt it to be a very important part of
our community. Jim has helped to preserve Johnson County Heritage by imparting
numerous stories and taking part in historical events. The most important part
of Jim’s life was his family. He also loved to hunt and fish with his children
and grandchildren. Jim and May built a cabin at Hazelton where many joyous
family gatherings occurred.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, May Dillinger; one son Phil
Dillinger and his wife Debbie of Buffalo; two daughters, Katie White and her
husband Foster of Laramie and Susan McCrary and her husband Craig of Loveland,
Colorado; his very close first cousin, Skip Hancock of Buffalo; five
granddaughters and five grandsons.

OBITUARY: GRACE E. WILLIAMS
November 21, 1906 - August 30, 2007
Funeral services for Grace Williams, 100 year old Buffalo woman who
passed away quietly at the Amie Holt Care Center, late Thursday evening, will be
held Tuesday, September 4th at 10 am from the Union Congregational
Church, with Rev Nancy Brooks officiating. A private family interment will be
in Willow Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in Grace’s memory to the Jerry
Campbell Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Adams Funeral Home.
Grace Estelle Williams was born in Coeur d’alane, Idaho. She attended
elementary school in Couer d’alane and when she was a teenager she moved to live
with her aunt in San Diego, California where she went to high school. She was
married on February 19, 1925 in San Diego to Walter Williams and they made their
home in San Diego for a while and moved to Johnstown, Pennsylvania where Walter
finished his military obligation. They then moved to Pine Haven, Arkansas where
Mr. Williams worked for Alco Aluminum. In 1944 they moved to Sinclair, Wyoming
where Mr. Williams took a job with Sinclair Refining Company. They retired in
1968 and traveled for two years before settling in Cottonwood, Arizona. In 1986
they moved to Buffalo to be near family. Mr. Williams passed away in November
of 2001 and Grace continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death. She
had been a resident of Amie Holt for the past seven years.
She was a
past member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, The Rebekahs, Navy
Mothers; she started the Sub-debs in Sinclair, the Buffalo Beta Group and loved
to play bridge, read, knitting, crochet and spend time with her family.
She is
survived by two sons, James Williams of Dayton, Ohio and Jack Williams of
Rawlins, two daughters, Frances Campbell of Buffalo and Susan Pixler of
Rawlins; one half sister, Alice Murray of Port Townsend, WA; thirteen
grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
OBITUARY: Mary Warnock Brosius

1930 - August 27, 2007
Funeral services for Mary Warnock Brosius, 77 year old Buffalo woman who passed
away late Monday evening, will be held Saturday, September 1st
at 10:00 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Jarvis
officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services
to follow the funeral. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Amie Holt

Mary
Elvira Brosius was born on July 9th,
1930 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Paul and Peggy Padilla. She moved with her
family to Wyoming as a child where she attended grade school in Clearmont. In
the 1940’s the family moved to Miles City, Montana where she also went to
school. She was married on May 30, 1951 in Buffalo to Floyd “Mac” Warnock and
they made their home in Buffalo for two and a half years before moving to
Seattle where Mac was a truck driver. In 1977 they moved back to Buffalo where
they owned and operated the Donut Shop and later Mary worked as a CNA at the
Amie Holt Care Center and also for Home Health. Mac and Mary were divorced in
1991 and Mary moved to Casper where she lived for a while before moving back to
Buffalo. In 2000 she was married to Jim Brosius in Buffalo and they lived and
worked on the C.K. Lawrence Ranch on Clear Creek. Mr. Brosius passed away in
2004 and Mary continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death.
She is
survived by one daughter, Diane McCann of Buffalo; one son Ron Warnock of
Seattle; three brothers, Ray Padilla of Casper, John Padilla of Ennis, Montana
and Frank Padilla of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren and two great
grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, & one
son.

BRANDON MORRIS
September 13, 1985 - August 23, 2007
Funerals services for Brandon Morris, 21 year old Buffalo man who
was killed in an auto accident Thursday morning East of Buffalo, will be held
Tuesday August 28th at 10:00 a.m. from the Big Horn Baptist Church
with Pastor John Constantine officiating. Visitation will be held from the
Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will
be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral.
Donations may be made in Brandon’s memory to the Brandon Morris Memorial, an
Educational Fund set up for his daughter Jadence, in care of the Adams Funeral
Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
Brandon David Morris was born on September 13, 1985 in Buffalo to Bill and
Stacy Morris. He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and attended Buffalo
High School. After high school he took a job with Hanover Compressors in Casper
where he met his future wife Lacey Walker. In 2004 Brandon and Lacey moved
back to Buffalo where he went to work for Wyoming Well Service. They had a
beautiful baby girl, Jadence LeAnn on June 28, 2005. Brandon and Lacey were
married on July 29, 2006 in Buffalo where they made their home. Brandon was
working for Big Horn Trucking at the time of his death.
Brandon loved spending time with his family, riding dirt bikes, camping,
fishing, wake boarding, snow boarding and just being outside.
He is survived by his wife Lacey Walker Morris of Buffalo; one daughter
Jadence Morris also of Buffalo; his parents, Stacy and Bill Morris of Buffalo;
one sister Breann Morris of Buffalo; his maternal grandparents, Keith and Edith
Slovek
of Philip, South Dakota; his paternal grandfather, Bob Morris of Buffalo; a
maternal great-grandmother, Fern Konst of Philip, South Dakota, numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins
and a great host of friends.
OBITUARY: Vivian E. Moncrief

Funeral services for Vivian Moncrief,
88 year old Buffalo woman who passed away suddenly Monday evening at the Johnson
County Health Care Center, will be held Monday August 27th, at 10 am from the
Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Connie Cranston officiating.
Visitation will be from the funeral home chapel on Sunday from 1pm until 9 pm,
and on Monday from 8:30 am until 9:30 am Burial will be in The Memorial Gardens
Cemetery in Casper with gravesides services to follow the funeral at 2 pm on
Monday in Casper. Donations may be made in Vivian’s memory to the Buffalo Senior
Center in care of the Adams Funeral Home.
Vivian Euvone Moncrief was born in Garden City, Kansas to John and
Lena Robinson. When she was a young girl she moved around with her family in
various parts of the Midwest. Her family moved to Worland where she graduated
from high school in 1936. She was married in 1936 in Worland to Lester Moncrief
and they made their home in Worland for a short time. They moved to Casper in
1938 where Mr. Moncrief worked. They were transferred to Midwest in 1939 where
they lived until 1969 when they retired and moved to Denver. Vivian worked as a
seamstress in an upholstery shop for many years. Mr. Moncrief passed away in
1996, and Vivian moved to Buffalo in 1999. She lived in Buffalo until the time
of her death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Red Hat
Club, enjoyed playing Pinochle, spending time with her family, sewing and
knitting.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Campbell and her husband
John of Buffalo and Beverly Miller and her husband Errol of Casper; one son
Gerald Owen Moncrief and his wife Carolyn of Port St. Lucie, Florida; eleven
grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, three
sisters & one grandson.
OBITUARY: Louise Ridley

Funeral services for
Louise Ridley, 88 year old Buffalo woman who passed away Thursday evening in
Buffalo, will be held Friday, August 24nd at 2:00 pm from the Adams Funeral Home
Chapel with Reverend Bob McHenry officiating. Visitation will be held from the
funeral home chapel on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 9 pm and on Friday 9 am until
1pm. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow
the funeral. Donations may be made in Louise’s memory to the Wesleyan Church
Building fund.
Sylvia Louise Ridley was born on the family homestead 35 miles
south of Buffalo to Marshall and Sylvia Jenkins. Louise grew up in Antelope
Basin and attended country school south of Buffalo. She met Jesse Ridley in the
winter of 1940 while they were working on the Simmons Ranch. They were married
in 1941 at the Wesleyan Church in Buffalo by Reverend John Hunter. In the spring
of 1951 Jesse and Louise bought a ranch northwest of Buffalo. In 1959 they moved
to Story where they lived until 1966 when they returned to Buffalo. Mr. Ridley
passed away in October of 2000, and Louise continued living in Buffalo until the
time of her death.
Louise loved to travel and had cherished memories of trips to England, Ireland
and Israel.
She loved the Wyoming mountains, and spending time with her
family. She and Jesse liked hiking, fishing and scaring bears. She loved to read
and had an extensive library. She was an excellent cook, baking fresh homemade
bread regularly. Louise was a gentle person, a nurturer, and took care of her
mother for several years, later caring for her husband of 60 years and the love
of her life. She was blessed with the gift of insight, having an internal wisdom
that she inherited from her father.
She is survived by six children, Lila Louise Crump, Marjorie Eileen
Gunsolley of Buffalo, Jack Marshall Ridley of Missoula, Bonnie Lynn Ridley Kraft
of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Alan Jesse Ridley Buffalo, and Kerry Irvin Ridley of
Portland, Oregon; one brother, Robert Jenkins of Colombia Falls, Montana; five
sisters, Polly Oltion of Sheridan, Vida Jenkins of Ventura, CA, June Taylor of
Buffalo, Norma Closson of Casper and Nora Cellers of Bozeman; sixteen
grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jesse, an
infant daughter, Carol Anne and one brother Forrest Jenkins.

Jeanne M. Etchemendy

Mass of Christian Burial
for Jeanne Etchemendy, 98 year old Buffalo woman who passed away early Thursday
morning at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, will be celebrated Monday,
August 13th at 11:00 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo
with Father Peter Johnson as celebrant. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:00
p.m. from the Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral
Home Chapel on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Burial will be in Willow
Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral.
Jeanne Marie Etchemendy was born on November 15, 1908 in St.
Etienne de Baigorry, France, in the Basque Pyrenees to Jean and Dominica
Ansolabere. She grew up on a farm in France where she received her education.
She attended college for two years in Spain and returned to France at the start
of the Spanish Revolution. She taught school in France and was involved with the
underground resistance during WWII.
She moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1947 to live near her brother
Albert. She met later married Pete Etchemendy on April 20, 1947 in San Luis
Obispo. They made their home in Johnson County where they ranched on Powder
River on the Bugher Ranch. They sold the ranch in 1972 to Bob and Darlene Arndt
and continued living in Buffalo taking many exotic trips around the world
including Mexico, Canada, Egypt, South America, France, Asia, Japan, China, and
Indonesia. Mr. Etchemendy passed away in August of 1990 and Jeanne continued
living in Buffalo until the time of her death.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the
Altar Society. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and travel.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in
death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.

Vera Mae Smith was born on September 16, 1912 outside Walnut Grove,
Missouri to John and Mary Alice Claypool. She Grew up and received her schooling
in Missouri and was married in 1930 to Sam Stanley and they made their home in
Missouri for 4 years and were divorced in 1934. Vera moved to Wyoming where she
met Ray Smith at a dance in Kaycee, and they were married on April 2, 1938 in
Casper. They made their home in Forsythe, Montana where they worked on a ranch
for two years. They then moved to Kaycee where they worked for the Sackett Ranch
for four years. They moved into Buffalo in 1947 and Ray worked for the Buffalo
Bakery for two years. They then moved to the Gordon Ranch West of
Kaycee for one year. They then moved into Buffalo where they lived and worked
until they retired in 1979. Mr. Smith passed away in December of 1990 and Vera
continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death.
She is survived by several nieces; a nephew Gene Routh of Sheridan
and her friend of many years, Mary Whaley and her husband Pat of Buffalo. She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and one sister.

Buffalo woman who passed away at her home in Buffalo early Tuesday
morning, will be held Monday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from

Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. A private family interment will be

Wilhelmina Olida Price was born on November 18, 1918 in Rochester,
New York to John and Monica Kuitems. She grew up in Rochester and
graduated from Holy Sepulcher High School in Rochester. After high
school she attended a dietary institute for one year. She joined
the U.S. Army and served in France during WWII. After an honorable
discharge she returned to New York and in 1953 she moved to Buffalo
where she met and married Oliver Price in 1954. Willie and Oliver
made their home in Buffalo where she was the cook and baker at the
Three T Ranch south of Kaycee. Mr. Price died in 1968 and Willie
continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death.
She was a past president of the VFW and a Sheridan Trading Post
celebrity. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls, her gardening
abilities, her life stories and her love of family and friends. She
will be deeply missed.
She is survived by three sons; William Squyres- Price and his wife
Tina of Littleton, Colorado, James Price of Buffalo and John Reveley-Price
and his wife Barbara of Dunedin, New Zealand and three
grandchildren, Tanya Callow and her husband Hayden of Norway,
William Squyres-Price of Littleton, Colorado and Nicholas Squyres-Price
also of Littleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband and two brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial for Ray Thorburn, 88 year old
Buffalo man who passed away peacefully at his home in Buffalo late
Wednesday evening, will be celebrated Monday, July 23rd at
10:00 a.m. from the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with
Father Peter Johnson as celebrant. A rosary will be recited Sunday
evening at 7:00 from the Catholic Church. Donations may be made in
Ray’s memory to the Jim Gatchell Museum or the Johnson County Public
Health Building Fund in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams
in Buffalo. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel
on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.. Interment will be in Willow
Grove Cemetery with the VFW and American Legion in charge of Military
Graveside Services.
Ray was born on July 23, 1918, at his grandparent’s ranch on SR
Creek East of Wyarno to John and Nora (Kuhl) Thorburn. He attended
primary school in Big Horn and at Holy Name in Sheridan. In 1933 the
family moved to Gillette where he attended Campbell County High School
for two years. In 1935 he moved with his family to Buffalo where he
graduated from Johnson County High School in 1937. Ray attended
Mortuary College in Kansas City and following an internship became a
licensed mortician. Ray worked in a funeral home in Scottsbluff,
Nebraska and later in Bozeman, Montana. Ray was working in Bozeman in
December of 1941 when Pearl Harbor was attacked and immediately joined
the U.S. Navy and arrived in Pearl Harbor one month later to find the
ships still burning. He was attached to the U.S. Marine Corps as a
medic and served his country bravely at the battle of Midway. He was on
Midway Island for the next two years and was then rotated back to Hawaii
to work in a hospital and later to Letterman Hospital in San Francisco.
After the war and an honorable discharge Ray returned to Buffalo where
he was married to Madelyn Richter on September 4, 1944. They made
their home in Rawlins where Ray worked for the McKelvey Funeral Home and
in 1948 they moved back to Buffalo where he used his war-time-poker
earnings to open up Ray’s Liquor Store which he owned and operated until
he retired in 1983. Madelyn passed away in June of 1994 and Ray
continued living in Buffalo until the time of his death.
Ray, who went by the nickname of “Paco” when entertaining his
grandchildren was very active in the community and for many years he ran
the VFW’s state-wide marble tournament. He was involved in putting on
the Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake DeSmet and always supported the
Johnson County Fair by buying dozens of 4H animals for himself and
other businesses as well as organizing the Fair and Jubilee Parades. He
was also a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the
Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and VFW and the Buffalo Chamber
of Commerce. Ray and Madelyn loved to ride their horses, Ajax and
Frosty, in the Big Horn Mountains and to spoil their numerous Siamese
Cats, Toy, Bijou, Ms Ellie, Coco and Christy. Ray also loved the
Buffalo Golf Course where he served on the board, was a long-time member
and made a hole-in-one on the number four hole.
Ray is survived by two sons, John Thorburn of Buffalo and Joe
Thorburn of Greeley, Colorado; two daughters Ann Cole of Casper and
Cecile Gallegos of Casper; seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his
wife.
OBITUARY: WILMA SKOG
May 7, 1919 - July 13, 2007
A celebration of the Life of Wilma Skog, 88 year old Buffalo
resident who passed away Friday, July 13th, will be held by her family on
Friday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. Donations
in Wilma’s name may be made to the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. The
Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo is in charge of local arrangements.
Wilma Lois Skog was born on May 7, 1919 in Phillip, South Dakota to
Albert and Mary Elizabeth Anderson. She grew up in Philip and graduated from
Phillip High School in 1938. She was married on September 11, 1938 in Rapid
City to Orvall E. Skog and they made their home in Rapid City where Mr. Skog
worked as a cabinet maker.
They also spent time living in Newcastle and Sheridan, Wyoming. Mr.
Skog passed away in May of 2006 and Wilma lived in Buffalo from June of 2004
until she became a resident of Amie Holt Care Center in September of 2005
where she lived until the time of her death.
Wilma was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Elks Club Does, the
Lutheran Church Women’s Circle and the Garden Club. She enjoyed reading,
gardening, needle point, taking care of others and spoiling her
grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Lana Dalziel and her husband Dean of
University Place, Washington and Sybil Petro and her husband Bill of
Buffalo; two grandsons, one grand daughter and six great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one
sister.
ALLEN GENE WAGONER
May 13, 1921 - July 13, 2007
Graveside funeral services for Allen Wagoner, 86 year old
Buffalo resident who passed away Friday at the Amie Holt Care Center, will be
held Tuesday, July 17th at 10 am in Willow Grove Cemetery with Bob Zimmerscheid
officiating. Visitation will be held at the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Monday
from 1 pm to 9 pm. The VFW and American Legion will be in charge of Military
Graveside Rites. Donations may be made to the Friends of the Library or the Jim
Gatchell Museum in care of the Adams Funeral Home. A reception with the family
will be held at the Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall hosted by the Shell
Creek-Piney Homemaker’s Club, following graveside services.
Allen Gene Wagoner was born on the family ranch near Bertha,
Wyoming. He grew up in Campbell and Johnson Counties and attended Johnson County
High School. Allen proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his
honorable discharge he returned to Wyoming where he worked on various ranches
around Buffalo. He was married in 1947 to Rosa Bell Key and they made their home
in Johnson County on ranches where Mr. Wagoner was a ranch foreman. In 1957 they
bought a ranch on Tongue River in Sheridan County where they raised their five
children. In 1982 they retired and moved into Buffalo.
Allen was a cowboy, rancher, hard worker, good provider and loved
spending time in the mountains. He loved horses and trained dozens of fine
horses during his lifetime, “Charlie Brown” being his favorite. Allen was
quietly very proud of an honor bestowed on him by his good friend D. Michael
Thomas, when Mike asked him to pose for his bronze sculpture “The Coats of
Winter”, now in the permanent collection of the Jim Gatchell Museum. Allen and
Rosa Bell celebrated 60 years of marriage in March of this year.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Bell of Buffalo; two sons, Ron Wagoner of Oak
Harbor, Washington and Rick Wagoner of Arlington, Texas; three daughters,
Phyllis Mayo of Boulder, Wyoming; Ann Brecht of Fort Collins, Linda Carter of
Oak Harbor, Washington; one brother Ed “Junior” Wagoner of Glenrock, Wyoming and
one sister June Suchta of Worland, Wyoming; five grandchildren, Misti, Matt,
Richard, Christina, and Tatyana; two great-grandchildren, Nicka and Jasmine; and
two special friends, Bob Zimmerscheid and Mike Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Pascal Wagoner and three
sisters, Mabel Keiser, May Wagoner and Montana Berger.
OBITUARY: MARILYN A. NEILL

Funeral services for Marilyn Neill, 61 year old Buffalo woman who
passed away Monday morning at the Johnson County Health Care Center, will be

Marilyn Neill was born on February 5, 1946 in Plainview, Texas to
Joel and Millie Culp. She grew up and went to school in Plainview and moved
to Tulia, Texas for her senior year where she graduated from high school in
1964. After high school she attended West Texas State University for two
years. She was married in 1965 in Tulia to Bob Neill and they made their
home in Plainview for two years.
They moved to Casper, Wyoming in October of 1969 where Mr. Neill
was a court reporter. In June of 1983 they moved to Buffalo where Marilyn
worked for 1st Interstate Bank and Grizzly Engineering. They continued
living in Buffalo until the time of her death. She attended the New Life
Assembly of God Church and enjoyed camping in the mountains, dancing and
spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Bob of Buffalo; one son, Justin
Neill of St. Paul, Minnesota; one daughter Amber Kamps and her husband Steve
of Lincoln, Montana; one brother Joel H. Culp and his wife Sonja of
Plainview, Texas; one grandson, Bridger Kamps and one granddaughter, Sage
Kamps both of Lincoln, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents.
OBITUARY: C.V. Roberts
November 10, 1935 - June 6, 2007
Funeral services for C.V. Roberts, 71 year old Buffalo man who
passed away Wednesday afternoon June 6th, following a valiant fight against
cancer, will be held Saturday, June 9th at 10.00 am from the Adams Funeral
Home Chapel with Father David Dupree officiating. A private family interment
will follow services. Donations may be made in C.V.’s memory to the Buffalo

Claire Vernon Roberts was born in Buffalo to Claire and Sarah Roberts. He
grew up and attended schools in Buffalo. Half way through his senior year
joined the Army and served in Korea. He returned to Buffalo where he was
married in 1956 in Rawlins to Irene Medina and they made their home in 28
different states working for AT&T. He was divorced and later married in 1961
to Sharon Starr in Casper. He was divorced from Sharon and was married on
October 16th 1962 in Pueblo, Colorado to Carol McClary and they made their
home in Denver where C.V. attended Beauty College. In 1963 they moved to
Colorado Springs and then to Cheyenne where C.V. learned to tend bar. In
1975 they moved to Buffalo where C.V. was a photographer for the Buffalo
Bulletin, tended bar, did concrete work, cooked in the family owned Busy Bee
Restaurant and was a firefighter. He was married on December 3rd 2006 to his
companion of 16 years Mary Larson, and they lived in Buffalo until the time
of his death.
C.V. was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Johnson County Fire and the Rocky
Mountain Incident Management Team where he was a member of the shuttle
recovery crew in Texas as well as support for evacuation of hurricanes Ivan,
Katrina and Rita. Grandpa loved spending time in the mountains, hunting and
fishing, following his kids and grandkids in sports and being with his
family.
He is survived by his wife Mary of Buffalo; one son Steven “Kelly” Roberts
and his wife Melody of Green River; five daughters, Tanya Duncan and her
husband Mike of Buffalo, Shannon Duncan and her husband Scott of Buffalo;
Sarah Beth Coghlan and her husband Kylan of Billings, Tracy Martinez of
Cheyenne and Dana Glee Roberts of Casper; one step-son Joseph Larson and his
wife Jodee of Jackson, Wyoming; one step-daughter Jackie Larson Ocker also
of Jackson; one brother Bill Voiles of Casper; seventeen grandchildren and
sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two
brothers and one infant sister.

Funeral services for Sandy Dillman, 46 year old Sheridan woman who passed
away quietly at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital will be held Tuesday, June
26th at 2:00 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bob
Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on
Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until 1:30
p.m. Graveside services will be held in Willow Grove Cemetery following the

Sandra Lee Dillman was born in McLeansboro, Illinois to Frear and
Sylvia Sutphin. As a young child she moved with her family to Gillette,
Wyoming where the family lived for a time before moving to Buffalo. She
attended Buffalo schools until she was a sophomore in high school. The
family then moved to Clearmont where she graduated from high school in 1978.
After high school she attended business college in Rapid City for one year.
She was married in 1984 in Sheridan to Roger Malli and they lived in
Sheridan. After a divorce she lived in Sheridan where she managed Taco
John’s until 1997.
She was married on June 14, 1997 in Sheridan to Alvin Dillman and
they made their home in Sheridan. In that same year Sandy took a job with
Maverick Country Stores, where she was their Food Service Manager at the
time of her death. Sandy loved her animals, gardening, and spending time
with her family.
She is survived by her husband Alvin Dillman of Sheridan; her
mother Sylvia Sutphin of Sheridan; one son, Chancey Malli; two brothers,
Danny Sutphin of Cheyenne and Michael Sutphin of Sheridan; one grandson,
Michael Lloyd Malli and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Frear Sutphin, her step-father, Bob
Trebelcock, and one sister Terri Coleman.

Funeral services for Larry Larson, 73 year old Buffalo man who passed away
at his home in Buffalo following a short illness, will be held Wednesday

Larry Roger Larson was born on December 16, 1933 in Clearwater,
Nebraska to Roger and Olive Larson. He started school in Nebraska and when
he was in elementary school they moved to Cheyenne where he attended
schools. In 1945 he moved with his family to Buffalo where he graduated from
Johnson County High School in 1952. After high school he attended the
University of Wyoming for one year and transferred to Sheridan College for
his second year.
In 1954 he took a job with Percy Robinson’s meat cutting plant, in
Buffalo. He was married on November 2, 1955 in Buffalo to Doris Johnson and
they made their home in Buffalo. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956
and served in Germany until his discharge in 1958.
After the military he returned to Buffalo where he worked for the
State Highway Department. He spent 30 years working for the highway
department and retired in 1991. After retirement they continued living in
Buffalo until the time of his death. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and
spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Doris of Buffalo; his mother Olive
Larson of Buffalo; one son, Mike Larson and his wife Jeanenne of Buffalo;
two
daughters Kathy Zorbas and her husband John of
Buffalo and Linde Merrow and her husband Cliff of Rolla, Missouri; one
brother Lanny Larson and his wife Janet of Thorton, Colorado; one sister,

Funeral services for Bessie Jones, 63 year old Riverton woman who
passed away February 10th at her home in Riverton, will be held Friday, July

Bessie G. Jones was born in Buffalo on January 1, 1944 to William H. and Esther
Brock Jones. She grew up in Buffalo until the age of 15 when she entered the
Wyoming State Training School in Lander. She moved to Riverton in the mid 1970’s
and lived first with the family of Brenda Iden and then entered a group home
with Community Entry Services.
She worked on the Assembly line for DH Print and then at the
Johnson Center for C.E.S. She was baptized in the Congregational Church in
Buffalo. Over the years, she attended various churches in Riverton with various
families who say she loved to sing in Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Barnett “Barney” Jones of Truckee,
California and William “Bill” Jones and his wife, Ella of Cheyenne; two sisters,
Katheryn Newmann and her husband Bob of Broomfield, Colorado and Clare Gralfin
of Westminster, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews, including great nieces
and great nephews; and many friends at CES, caregivers, and their families. She
was preceded in death by her parents.
OBITUARY: Robert “Bob” McCue

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” McCue will be at 2:00 p.m.,
Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon
Harper of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow
in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, June
20th at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Robert Aurist McCue, age 77, of
Buffalo passed away on June 14, 2007 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital
after having surgery and a long courageous battle with diabetes.
Bob was born in Gillette, the son of J.A. “Aurist” and Helen
(Likewise) McCue. He was raised on the family homestead at Middle Prong, and
attended country schools around Arvada, and graduated from Campbell County
High School in 1948. Bob was drafted into the US Army, but the Marines were
looking for a few good men. He served as a Marine during the Korean War on
the front lines for 18 months and as a military policeman in Bremerton,
Washington until 1953. He then returned to the family ranch. In 1954, he
married Darlene “Swede” Curtis, and to this marriage they had three children
and two grandchildren. They bought an irrigated ranch at Leiter, where they
ranched, farmed and raised their family until 1999. Due to Bob’s failing
health, they sold the ranch and moved to Buffalo where they resided until
his death.
Bob served as a board member to the Sheridan County Weed and Pest
Board, Pratt and Ferris Ditch Company, Cadiz Corporation, and FFA Clear
Creek Chapter. He volunteered as a fireman for the Arvada-Leiter-Clearmont
area. Bob enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, working with cattle and
horses on the ranch, elk and moose hunting in Jackson Hole.
Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene “Swede” McCue of
Buffalo; 3 children: Robert R. McCue of Buffalo, Catherine (Brent) Nielsen
of Rapid City and Debra McCue of Gillette; 2 grandchildren: Brittany and
Tyler McCue of Gillette; 2 brothers: Richard McCue of Moorcroft and James
McCue of Gillette; 1 sister, Thelma Dexter of Gillette; and several nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Marion and
baby Barbara Joy, 2 brothers, George and Donald McCue.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made on behalf of Robert to the

Charles Phillips Jr. was born May 9, 1921 in Kirksville, Missouri
to Charles W. and Daisy Phillips. As a young child he moved to Arvada,
Wyoming where he grew up and attended schools, graduating from Arvada
High School where he was a member of their basketball team. After high
school he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He was married
on July 9, 1945 in Hardin, Montana to Joyce Clabaugh and they made their
home in San Diego while Charles was in the Navy. After the war he
returned to Wyoming where he took a job with the Sheridan Flouring Mills
Elevator. He was later transferred to the elevator in Hardin, Montana
and eventually transferred to Gillette where he was the manager the
Sheridan Flouring Mills in Gillette until it was purchased by the
Farmers Co-op. He continued working for the Co-op until his retirement
in 1984. After retirement he continued living in Gillette until the
time of his death. Charles was a member of the Sheridan Elks Club,
enjoyed fishing, taking care of his yard, and was an avid elk hunter.
He loved watching sports on television and spending time with his
children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of Gillette; two sons, Bill
Phillips and his wife Marcia and Dennis Phillips and his wife Brenda
all of Gillette; two daughters, Susan Garry and her husband Russell of
Gillette and Linda Cross and her husband Donnie of Spotted Horse; one
sister Eva Lepper of Casper; ten grandchildren and sixteen
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one
brother, Jesse, one grand son-in-law Brian Brunner and one
great-grandson Santos Paul.

Mass of Christian burial for Jean Curutchet, 93 year old Kaycee man
who passed away Saturday morning at the JC Health Care Center, will be
celebrated Friday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. from the St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church with Father Hugo Blotsky OSB as celebrant. A Rosary will be
recited Thursday evening at 7pm at St John’s. Visitation will be Thursday at the
Adams Funeral Home Chapel from 9 am until 5 pm Donations may be made in Jean’s
memory to the Jean Curutchet Memorial Fund to help the family defray expenses.
Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside rites to follow the mass.
Jean Curutchet was born in Arneguy, France. He grew up in Arneguy
and moved to Wyoming in 1931 where he worked with his brother Arnaud. He also
worked for the Falxa and Juan Uross ranches. He was married in 1942 in Buffalo
to Mary Louise Faure and made their home in Buffalo. Jean herded sheep all over
Johnson County until 1947. In 1959 they bought the Eychaner Ranch west of
Kaycee, which they owned and operated for 33 years.
They sold the ranch in 1994 and retired in Buffalo. He had spent
the last several months living in Kaycee to be near his daughter, Janet. Jean
and Mary Louise were married 65 years.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Kaycee Gun
Club.
He is survived by his wife Mary Louise of Kaycee; one daughter
Janet Pierson of Kaycee; one sister-in-law Alvina Curutchet; one brother, Father
Isador Curutchet of Bayonne, France; two nephews James Curutchet of Buffalo and
Robert Auzqui of Arneguy, France; four nieces, Alberta Escoz of Buffalo, Anita
Iriberry of Wright, Katherine Hepp of Buffalo and Betty Rodriguez of Buffalo;
four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services and a celebration of the life of Bill James, 49 year old
Kaycee resident and former Idaho man who passed away Saturday evening June
2nd, at the Johnson County Health Care Center, in Buffalo, Wyoming following
a long illness, will be held Saturday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. from the
Mackay School Auditorium in Mackay, Idaho. A visitation for family and
friends will be held at the Bingham - Marvel Memorial Chapel in Arco, Idaho
from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Donations may be made to the Bill
James Memorial Fund to help his family defray expenses. A reception will be
held following the services at the Mackay American Legion Hall in Mackay.
William Percy “Bill” James, oldest son of J.M. and Virginia James was
born on September 24, 1957 in Gooding, Idaho. A 1975 graduate of Gooding
High School, Bill participated in football, basketball and was avid in
rodeo, competing on a National level for the remainder of his life in
cutting, reining, PRCA and USTRC sanctioned events. Bill will be remembered
for his generosity, his zest for life, his ability to relate to little kids
and his amazing talent with horses and cattle.
Bill is survived by his wife Rocky (Maria) James of Kaycee, Wyoming,
children; Amanda Mennenga of Gooding; Dusty James of Twin Falls, Cody James
of Wendell, Staci Cole of Paul, Idaho and Aspen James of Kaycee, Wyoming.
He is also survived by his mother, Virginia James of Mackay; sister Joni
Lemons and her husband Keith of Fairfield; four brothers, Doug James of
Mackay, Marty James of St. Anthony, Jeff James and his wife Shannon of
Mackay, and Kenny James and his significant other Terri Ann of Kooskia,
Idaho: two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, relation and a great
host of friends across the country as well as the world through his
association with Twin Peaks Ranch in Salmon, Idaho and Antelope Trails Ranch
in Jackson, Wyoming. Bill will be met in heaven by his father, J.M. James
and grandparents.

Lila Gayle Berg was born on February 28, 1961 in Buffalo to Charlie
and Betty Firnekas. She grew up and went to school in Kaycee and attended
Kaycee High School. She was married on July 11, 1978 in Buffalo to Pat Berg
and they made their home in Kaycee . They moved to Buffalo in 1987 and Lila
worked at the Amie Holt Care Center and the Johnson County Co-op for many
years. Ill health forced her to retire in February and she continued living
in Buffalo until the time of her death. She loved spending time with her
family as well as gardening and decorating.
She is survived by her husband Pat Berg of Buffalo; two sons,
Jacob and Dawson Berg both of Kaycee; three daughters, Bonita Berg and her
fiancé Jay Smith both of Gillette, Sophia Morgan and her husband Jesse of
Dumas, Texas and Morgan Cross and her husband Wiley of Torrington; one
brother Dale Firnekas and his wife Becky of Kaycee; her parents Charlie and
Betty Firnekas of Kaycee; one grand daughter Elaina Gayle Morgan of Dumas,
Texas, and three nephews Boone, Nate, and Colt Firnekas all of Kaycee. She

WARREN F. LONG

Funeral services for Warren Long, 86 year
old Sussex resident who passed away Wednesday evening at the Sheridan Manor,
will take place Tuesday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Adams
Funeral Home in Buffalo, Wyoming with graveside services immediately
following at the Kaycee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from the funeral
home chapel on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Donations in Warren’s
memory may be made to the Kaycee Ambulance Fund and the Kaycee Volunteer
Fire Department in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in
Buffalo, Wyoming.
Warren Franklin Long was born on March 25, 1921 in Firth, Nebraska
to Frank S. Sr. and Mary C. Long. He grew up and received his schooling in
Firth, Nebraska and Sussex, Wyoming. He was married on September 11, 1953
to Vivian L. Turk in Buffalo, Wyoming and made their home in Hastings,
Nebraska where Warren worked as a laborer at the Navel base. In 1957 Warren
and Vivian returned to Sussex where he worked construction building the
Sussex road. He then moved to Edgerton, Wyoming where he worked in the oil
field for a year and a half. They then moved back to Sussex where he worked
at the Lynch oilfield until he retired in 1986. Warren and Vivian continued
to live in Sussex until the time of his death.
Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed hunting so
much that in the mid 1960’s Warren had been in an oilfield accident where he
was burned over 60 percent of his body, was in the hospital for six weeks
after which he insisted on going on his moose hunt. The doctor bandaged him
up and Warren and Jack Turk left for Jackson, Wyoming where they were both
successful. Warren especially loved the outdoors and spending time with his
family there.
He is survived by his wife Vivian of Sussex; one daughter Ve Nancy
Niswender of Buffalo, two sons; Floyd Long of Buffalo, and Scott Long and
his wife Marilyn of Kaycee, two sisters; Leona Taylor of Midwest, Wyoming,
Grace Wright and her husband Ed of Johnson, Nebraska; one brother Frank
“Jr.” Long of Warsaw, Missouri; four grandchildren and two great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son
Rusty Scott Long, two brothers and one sister, and one son-in-law, Lyle
Niswender.

Private family interment for Ed Saczawa, 87 year old Buffalo man who
passed away suddenly Saturday morning at the Johnson County Health Care
Center in Buffalo, will be held by his family in Willow Grove Cemetery at a

Edward John Saczawa was born on May 24, 1919 in Passaic, New Jersey
to Albert and Mary Saczawa. He grew up and received his education in New
Jersey and when he was 19 he moved to California where he worked in
restaurants. He learned to cook and was a chef in many restaurants in
California.
He was married on April 22, 1947 in Carson City, Nevada to Betty
Lueckfeld and they made their home in the Bay Area of California. They
purchased the Family Inn Restaurant in Oakland, California which they owned
and operated for 16 years before retiring. After retirement they moved to
Pollock Pines, California where they lived for 23 years.
In 1997 they moved to Buffalo where they continued to live until
the time of his death. Ed enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing pool and
spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Buffalo; two sons, Gerald
Lueckfeld and his wife Margaret of Cameron Park, California and John Edward
Saczawa and his wife Laurie of Lincoln, California; one daughter, Diane
Williams and her husband Fred of Buffalo; five grandchildren and one great
grand daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two
brothers.

Ruth Amanda Hanson was born on November 19, 1914 in Buffalo,
Wyoming to Harry and Ruby Kershner. She grew up and received her schooling in
Buffalo. She was married to Andrew “Andy” J. Hanson on November 6, 1933 in
Hardin, Montana, and they made their home in Buffalo where they owned and
operated the Andy Hanson sawmill for 32 years. Ruth also was a store clerk for
Coast to Coast in Buffalo. Andy passed away in December 1977.
Ruth continued to live and work in Buffalo until she retired in
1980. She had been a resident of the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo and was a
resident of the Sheridan Manor at the time of her death. Ruth was a member of
the Rebekah’s and the Big Horn Baptist Church. She was an avid fisherman, loved
to work in her garden and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her son Ron and his wife Clara of Buffalo, two
grandchildren; Tonia Hanson and her husband Dan Borgialli of Buffalo, Dan Hanson
and his wife Renae of Buffalo, one grand daughter in-law Kathy Hanson, and six
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one
daughter, one grandson, four sisters and two brothers.
